So i'm leaving this afternoon and i may or may not be blogging on this shit while im out there. Just in case, here's some london based music you should do some homework if you're not already hip to it.
Dizzee Rascal is probably my favorite grime artist (right after Wiley & Kano). Boy in Da Corner is probably one of the best albums to come out in the 2000's (Chris Rock agrees). Horray for progression!
Next up is Bloc Party; this is my shit right here. This kind of shit used to spark up the whiteboy jokes when i was at school (though the lead singer is black, crazy right?). Anyways, ive searched far and wide through the indie kind of post punk electro genre and the ones ive seen trying to do their sound dont really quite do it for me. If you do nothing else go buy Silent Alarm, if you dont like it i'll pay you back or something haha.
these next videos are off the second album A Weekend In The City, hunting for witches is probably the first song i heard off of this one and its still one of my favorites. The second video Flux is just dope, probably the most popular song on the album; the whole jet jaguar-esque concept is awesome!
Flux
so yea, hopefully my next post will be filled with ill photos and stories etc...until next time

Traverler's Rule #327
No matter how funny you think it will be...when customs asks' you if you are traveling with any animals DO NOT SAY TROUSER SNAKE. I admit it seems like a brilliant idea at first, but chances are you'll get a douche bag agent who doesnt get the joke like (ask jules about this). The results are usually a hour of questioning, your pants around your ankles, and rubber gloves. Now unless that sounds like a good time to you, follow the simple mantra of "dont pull it out until she ask's; or until she's sleeping" and all is well.

The London Eye
Since opening in March 2000 The London Eye has become an iconic landmark and a symbol of modern Britain. The London Eye is the UK’s most popular paid for visitor attraction, visited by over 3.5 million people a year. A breathtaking feat of design and engineering, passengers in the London Eye's capsules can see up to 40 kilometres in all directions.
The London Eye is the vision of David Marks and Julia Barfield, a husband and wife architect team. The wheel design was used as a metaphor of the turning of the century.
Better believe im coming back with a ton of pictures, got the tickets and everything.

Handsome Destination #00003
I've been busy this week; mostly because of my trip to London in a week.
So sticking to the whole theme, all my posts until I leave will be England related (music/architecture/things to see/etc). This first video is something that caught my eye on myspace home page which rarely happens, but i've got mine set to the uk version of myspace. Wiley is one of the founding fathers of Grime. Now for all the smart dumb kids who were too lazy to click the link, grime is essentially drum & bass, jungle, hip hop, and dancehall with electronica influence that started around the early 2000's so its still relatively young. I think its dope, my bias stems from my love for b-more club music; but i put a disclaimer on this...it aint really for everyone. I suggest you open your mind cause even if you don't like it; it's something new & unique in its own right which deserves respect, especially in this day & age.

the first blog of my life...
Ladies, gentlemen, fellow travelers, star gazers, and friends...welcome.
I created this blog to essentially have a place to dump off photos of the different places ive been, show some stuff ive seen, and just give gabby something to do when none of her other friends are posting. aside from pictures im gonna include musical journeys, ideas, and whatever i can incorporate under this concept. now i leave you with...the begining.
so long & thanks for all the fish!
